Introduction
I developed a Google Chrome extension ChatGPT to Markdown before, which supports one-click export of the current conversation record to markdown format. Later, some partners reported that they wanted to export to more formats, such as extracting only plain text content and screenshot functions. So, I will introduce the latest ChatGPT conversation record export plug-in for you: ExportGPT.
Installation
If you have already installed it, please make sure you have updated to the latest version.
How to Update Chrome and Edge Browser Extensions
Method 1: Store Search
You can search ExportGPT: Export ChatGPT Conversation from Chrome Web Store
- First open Google Chrome or Edge browser and enter Chrome Web Store: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/extensions
- Search

Usage
- Open ChatGPT, chat with ChatGPT https://chat.openai.com
- The ExportGPT plugin will place a column of sidebar buttons on the right side of the page, click the format you want to export
- In the pop-up panel, you can preview, modify, copy or download the content to be exported Export as plain text

Function details
ChatGPT to PDF
There are three buttons below the action panel for exporting to PDF
- Copy: Copy the text content of the current conversation
- Export PDF: Download a PDF file of the current conversation
- Print PDF: The browser print interface will pop up, and you can choose to print directly or save it as a PDF. If you want to save it as a PDF, note that the background color is not enabled by default in the print settings, which will cause the code block to have no background color. If you need the code block to maintain the background color of the original web page, you need to manually enable it, as shown in the following figure:
Note that the PDF downloaded by the Export PDF button is read-only and cannot be edited after being opened with a PDF editor. However, the PDF files saved by Print PDF can be edited after being opened with a PDF editor.
ChatGPT to HTML
Export to HTML has two buttons below the action panel
- Copy: copy the HTML structure of the current dialog, without style files
- Export HTML: A complete HTML file will be downloaded, which additionally includes style links. As shown in the figure below, I directly open the exported HTML file, and you can see that the page maintains the original style.
If you have already installed it, please make sure you have updated to the latest version.

Thank you for your excellent work. I bought the pro version couple of weeks ago. I suddenly had a problem with the extension and it stopped working. I removed it and reinstalled it. Now I cannot not get it to work nor reactivate my license. Pls Help

I’ve tested all options and export to PDF, HTML does not working properly – they do first prompt only.

Hi, thank you for plugin – I tried all export methods, so it seems HTML and PDF does only the first question from chat conversation.

Hello . I posted this review in chrome store also . Your extension is very productive. However It needs some improvements . We should be able to select custom answers (before taking screenshot) in a chat to be exported to image , pdf etc. Coz otherwise it’s taking long to capture answers (even makes chrome tab unresponsive even on my Asus ROG Strix G17) -> after that it gives us option to custom select answers.

I do have problems with the tool. To PDF conversion does not work at all, it gives an error ever time I try. Doc works ok but it forgets spaces between myn words. If I copy special paste its all correct.
